It is time for
boating once again!
Yeah!!!
And it is time for an HVPS update. A
lot has happend that it couldn't wait to let you
know aobut the awards of the squadron,
successful D10 meeting and exciting upcoming
events.
It is great to be floating

D10 Spring Conference
Success
 This year's District 10
Spring Conference was a total success!
Several exciting things happened if you
missed it and this is only the short list.
- Hiawatha Valley's own Al Harmon was
installed as District Commander.
- One-third of our squadron membership
attended some aspect of the Conference.
- HVPS received awards for:
- Excellence in Journalism - Congratulations
Bobbie Moesle, editor of Tales of
Hiawatha
- Website Excellence - Congratulations Dave
Flynn, webmaster
- We raised over $1,400 for our project to
erect boating safety signs at two Red Wing
marinas. WOW!!! John Sydloski you were
marvelous!!
Many thanks to all who contributed time and
resources in this outstanding effort.

Triangle Day
 HVPS is marking the
beginning of National Boating Week with our
first ever Triangle Day Saturday May 17th.
This day will cover the three pillars of
the USPS values: Education, Civic Service,
Fraternity.
Education
- Two short seminars will be offered at the
Red Wing Library
- 10:00 - 12:00 On Board Weather
Forecasting
- 13:30 - 15:30 How to Read a
Chart
- Instruction is free
- Materials for purchase
at the class
- Advanced registration IS
required.
Civic Service
- We are dedicating the Boating Safety sign at
the Ole Miss Marina boat ramp at 16:30.
- Local dignitaries and press are expected.
- Come be a part of this milestone
event!!!
Fraternity
- Come to the "Back to Boating Bash!"
18:00 at Gopher Hills Golf Course (Miesville)
- It's just a party -- No fund raising or
business.
- NON-Squadron friends ARE welcome (especially
the ones with great "Tall Boating Tales"

Upcoming Events
This year looks to be another fun filled
boating year of Education, Civic Service, and
Fraternity. In fact, there are too many
scheduled activities for them to be put in this
section.

As you see by this little update, your
bridge has been very active in making plans for
a great year of boating. As many things
